This activity is designed to be taught with Exercise 4, "Listening: Asking favors."

Time: About 10 minutes. This activity practices describing personality traits.
  • Ask students to write a few sentences describing some personality traits of three classmates. (Note: Students should try to be imaginative, but should avoid embarrassing one another.) Tell students to use adjectives from Units 1–4.
  • Students compare their descriptions in pairs. Then elicit students' descriptions around class.
