Timing
On the CD-ROM, you have the option of moving through the questions at your own pace. In order to complete all of the questions in a timed test, you should try to pace yourself by paying attention to the number of questions and time remaining.
On the cassettes or audio CDs, all Listening tests and mini-tests give you the same amount of time (12 seconds) to answer the questions as on the Paper-Based TOEFL® Test. In the skill-building exercises, pause the cassette or audio CD after each question if you need more time to answer or if the question requires a written answer.
